How do I capitalise my menu text?

How do I capitalise my menu text?

You should never capitalise your menu text by using all caps in your admin area, as this yields inconsistent menu text and affects your page meta titles and search results. Always use the correct capitalisation for your page and category titles.

Do not use all caps in your Category or Page names

Capitalisation via CSS

To correctly capitalise your menus, navigate to your custom style coding area - see Where do I add custom style code?

To capitalise the Page Menu, add the following custom CSS:

/* Page menu text style */
.nav-block .page-menu > li > a {
	text-transform: uppercase;
}

To capitalise the Category Menu, add the following custom CSS:

/* Category menu text style */
.nav-block .category-menu > li > a {
	text-transform: uppercase;
}

To capitalise the Footer Menu, add the following custom CSS:

/* Footer menu text style */
#footer .footer-menu > li > a {
	text-transform: uppercase;
}

To capitalise a Tree Menu, add the following custom CSS:

/* Tree menu text style */
.nav-block .tree-menu > li > a {
	text-transform: uppercase;
}

Always click the Save link at the top of the customisation area when you have finished editing your CSS code.

Lowercase and other options

Note that you can use other values for the text-transform style. For example, to make the category menu all lowercase:

/* Category menu text style */
.nav-block .category-menu > li > a {
	text-transform: lowercase;
}
